Make that 6 STRAIGHT WINS! 6 straight ties our season high for a winning streak so far this year. What's so exciting is that the Mariners have the capabilities of extending that streak to 7 games on Tuesday night in Anaheim. On Friday night, offense came ready to go again. Offense leads ALL of Major League Baseball in runs scored so far in this great month of September. On Monday night in Anaheim, great combined pitching from LHP Ariel Miranda and relief helped contribute to Seattle's sixth straight victory. BIG offensive performances came from CF Leonys Martin, as well as 2B Robinson Canó who smacked one out for another homer to add to his list of success in 2016 so far. With just 19 games left to go, the Mariners are right in this thing, and very meaningful baseball is being played right now from this great team of the Pacific Northwest. With Monday night's win, our Mariners have advanced to a W-L record of 76-68 on the season, now 8.0 games over that .500 mark! The Mariners trail the first place Texas Rangers by 9.5 games in the American League Western Division. Seattle, now just 2.5 games back in the American League Wild Card, will look to make the run towards the PostSEAson for the first time since the year 2001. We just have to #KeepFighting.

On the mound on Monday night in Anaheim, LHP Ariel Miranda took the ball making his 9th appearance of the season and 7th start. Miranda had a solid outing going 6.0 innings strong while walking 1 and striking out 3 Halos on the night. Ariel gave up just 3 hits for no runs! With the great starting performance, Miranda earned himself his 4th win of the season and now has individual W-L record of 4-1 with an ERA of 4.10 in just over 40.0 innings tossed so far on the year. The Mariners will now look to extend their winning streak to a season-high 7 games on the season as we are set and ready for Game 2 baseball at the Big A on Tuesday night in Anaheim. A win tonight would clinch a series victory, and also help us to gain ground in that American League Wild Card chase. Looking to help get the M's this win will be RHP Taijuan Walker (5-10, 4.64 ERA), going out for his 22nd start of the season on Tuesday night. Walker and the M's are set and ready to take on LAA RHP Alex Meyer (0-2, 7.71 ERA). Be sure to catch all of the action on ROOT Sports NW for watching or listen in on 710 ESPN Seattle Radio!
