Taijaun Walker tosses another gem in 3-1 win over Angels

6/26 @ LAA by TOM HAYDEN

Friday night baseball is of itself an amazing thing. Sitting back to relax after a long week of work or school, knowing the weekend is ahead of you, with a little baseball! You can't beat it. The 34-40 Mariners made your Friday night even better with a 3-1 victory over the 37-37 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Young Taijuan Walker continually grows better, as he tossed yet another gem and got the M's a victory.

Walker went seven innings full, giving up seven hits but only one run off of a Mike Trout solo HR. With a 4.64 current ERA, Walker also struck out six on Friday night. JA Happ and Felix Hernandez will pitch tonight and tomorrow for the Mariners who look to do big things in this series in Anaheim.

Offensively the Mariners looked alive in Friday's win. 2B Robinson Canó and DH/RF Nelson Cruz in particular stepped up for Seattle. Robbie who is currently batting a .246 average launched a solo HR into the centerfield stands on Friday, giving the Mariners a steady 2-run lead. RF/DH Nelson Cruz (BA- .306) also contributed to the win with two hits on the night and an RBI. Mariners offense is getting better, and the rhythm is there. Just watch these guys, because they are coming out hot.

Send Nelson Cruz to the 2015 All Star Game! Don't forget to #VoteCruz, as you can up to 35 times at either or Visit @Mariners social media for details. This is Tom Hayden signing off saying #GoMariners! Stay #TrueToTheBlue.
