Hernandez pitches very well, but passed ball ends the game, a 3-2 loss to the LA Angels

6/28 @ LAA by TOM HAYDEN

ANGEL STADIUM OF ANAHEIM, ANAHEIM, CA. ----

Just pure ugliness. That's how Sunday afternoon's game ended for the Mariners, however the rest of the game looked very good for both defense and offense. How did the M's manage to lose this one? A passed ball in the tenth from Tom Wilhelmsen which sent in Angel Kole Calhoun for the winning run. At this point, there's nothing you can do about it however other than take the loss and move on.

As I said earlier however, the rest of this game did not look bad at all. RHP Felix Hernandez being Felix gave up only one hit and pitched a total of six innings. He currently holds a 3.05 ERA on the year.

On offense, 3B Kyle Seager launched another HR solo into the stands on Sunday. He now has 12 homers on the year. DH/RF Nelson Cruz almost homered in this one but hit an opposite field shot off the wall to send in an RBI for the other Mariners run. Nelson Cruz is ASG WORTHY. Vote for him up to 35 times on MLB.com or Mariners.com. Visit @Mariners social media for added details.

The 34-42 Mariners will have Monday night off, followed by a short two-game series in San Diego to face the 37-41 Padres. Mike Montgomery and Taijuan Walker will toss the two games for the Mariners. This is Tom Hayden signing off saying #GoMariners, stay #TrueToTheBlue.
