Mariners escape in eleventh inning with a 7-6 win over Tigers

7/7 vs DET by TOM HAYDEN

There were ALOT of souvenir baseballs last night at Safeco Field for both the Tigers and Mariners combined for seven homers on the night. One of the most important of those home runs came when the Mariners were down three runs, and CF Austin Jackson launched a grand slam to left. From that point on, the game stayed tight, and it was up to the pitcher's to keep it that way for their team. Who budged on Tuesday night however?

Detroit left hander Ian Krol did in the eleventh inning, when the score was tied at six. 2B Robinson Canó, who homered earlier that night was up at bat. Canó launched a single to the right field wall and sent in Austin Jackson for the game winning run. #WALKOFF.

The Mariners will finish the series against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday night, in Seattle. LHP J.A. Happ (4-5, 3.93 ERA) will get the start on the bump.
