Austin Jackson walks off in the tenth inning

8/11 vs BAL by TOM HAYDEN

Walk-Off wins are one fantastic feeling. Well, of course when it's your team that does so. The Mariners, our team, did so last night. CF Austin Jackson RBI singled yesterday in the bottom of the tenth to get the M's the win 6-5. It was an interesting game prior to that however also.

RHP Taijuan Walker went six innings for the Mariners giving up only five hits and striking out six Orioles. Walker continues to pitch well for the Mariners. Relieving Walker in the night were Tom Wilhelmsen, Carson Smith, Joe Beimel, and Fernando Rodney. Rodney got the win, (5-4).

Offensively, RF NELSON CRUZ homered in the first and now leads the MLB in HR (34) and has increased his hitting streak to 21 games. He is very good if you already hadn't noticed. Another great performance on Tuesday was 2B Robinson Canó for he went 3-4 at the plate. DH Mark Trumbo also connected for his 14th HR on the year, a three run HR in the first inning off of Tillman. Finally, CF Austin Jackon walked things off in the tenth to get the Mariners a 6-5 win. Now only eight games in back of Houston.

The Mariners will complete this series against Baltimore on Wednesday, the rubber match. 12:40 PAC, 3:40 ET start time as the Mariners prepare to head to Boston on Friday. It's Hisashi Iwakuma (3-2, 4.41 ERA) vs BAL Kevin Gausman (2-3, 4.56 ERA).

This is Tom Hayden signing off saying Go Mariners! Stay #TrueToTheBlue.
